Matthew Plishka, History Ph.D. student, has been awarded one of two graduate research fellowships from the American Society for Environmental History. Plishka’s recent and timely article “Malignant Microbes: Using Environmental History to Connect the Fields of Plant and Human Epidemiology,” Journal for the History of Environment and Society, 5 (2020), 67-77, examines the commonalities between plant and human pandemics.
